BEEF,
MAIN DISH,
QUICK AND EASY
Many of you will think I'm NUTS for posting this! It's not really even a recipe, but it still remains a family favorite. You don't even have to go camping to enjoy foil dinners. We enjoy them several times a year. These foil dinners are quick, easy and always taste great. We are pretty plain jane in this house. My better half doesn't care for onions in anything, so I rarely use whole onions, but use onion seasoning instead. Our foil dinners, are nothing fancy, but always get eaten. Keep this in mind.... if you decide to make these for your family, you can add onions, peppers, all kinds of seasonings as well. You can also make a nice gravy inside your packets, by spooning about 1/4 to 1/2 cup of mushroom soup or cream of chicken soup over the tops of the meat and potatoes. You can also add grated cheddar cheese before carefully sealing the sides and the tops of your foil dinners. Try these soon, they will soon be one of your favorite easy dinners as well.
Start with large pieces of foil....one for each member of your family.
There is only two in this household now!
This is all we use......whoops I forgot the Onion Salt!
You might add sliced onions, peppers, or other veggies
and other seasonings as well.
For gravy, add cream of mushroom or cream of Chicken soup over the top,
before sealing foil packets.
Press a hamburger in the center of each piece of foil.
I make my husbands much larger than mine,
so his foil needs to be larger as well......make sense right!
Next, I season the hamburger with salt, pepper, seasoning salt, and onion salt
You use whatever you like.
Next, I sprinkle brown sugar over the top of those patties.
Sounds weird.....but really yummy!
I use a Corn Cob cutter to slice my potatoes.
It is my favorite kitchen utensil.
I use this to make french fries, sliced potatoes in all thicknesses.
It is fast, easy and NO MESS!
See....perfect slices in the thickness you desire.
I can make them ultra thin or ultra thick.
If you find one of these.....buy it!
After slicing your potatoes, carrots, etc....place on top of hamburger patties. Just as many as you will eat!
This one is the perfect size for me!
Now.....carefully brings in the sides of the foil, and seal the tops.
Fold in your sides - kind of like wrapping a gift.
Whatever you do, just make sure it is sealed well.
You don't want that Brown Sugar Goodness to ooze out!
I always mark the tops of the foil with marker.
The J is for Jonna
The K is for Kenny.
I really don't need to do this anymore, since his foil dinner is much larger than mine.
It's a habit. When the kids were home.....this was necessary.
Bake your foil dinners on a cookie sheet in the center of your ovens. Every oven cooks differently, but.....I bake mine for about 1 hour at 350 degrees. If I'm in a big hurry, I bake these at 375 for 45 minutes. When baking time is almost up, (about 30 minutes) I open one of the foil dinners, check the veggies and the bottom of the hamburger patties, and make sure they are done just right. Don't burn them, but make sure your meat is done to your liking! So easy.....So Good, and you didn't even leave your house.

We do these too! The possibilities are endless. We also use chicken breasts or tenders and fresh green beans or fresh brussel sprouts some frozen corn. Meatballs are fun too. It's been a while, so I'm going to do these soon. Thanks for posting and reminding me.
We just had these for dinner the other night but I love your brown sugar addition, we will have to try that next time. We cook ours on the BBQ, I like to give the hubby something to do once in a while so once they hit the BBQ they are his responsibility:)
I think its funny that you post this only cause it is what I have planned for dinner tonight!!! I love tin foil dinners...they are so easy, and always delicious. I love the hamburger when you add the brown sugar...I know its strange people, but you must try it!!!
